We woke up with the doors to the beach wide open.
The sound of the waves rolling in and sneaking under the duvet.
We watched as the sunrise turned the sky from indigo to a bright pink, and onto a cool, clear blue.
Once it was up and the birds started chatting away, we walked through the jungle to breakfast.
Packed up our adventuring gear, and made a beeline for the marina.
Said “hey hello” to the biggest groper I’ve ever seen!
Jumped on the little One&Only dinghy and sped off around the island.
Just a quick, 10min float over to Blue Pearl Bay.
A tiny deserted beach, made entirely of coral. Crystal clear waters, and the place to ourselves.
Just dreamy.
I found the perfect Little Mermaid rock, and settled in for the day.
We alternated snorkelling with sun baking.
Totally enamoured by the contrast between the deeply red, Australian rock and the ever changing blues of the sea. There was no keeping my chap away from his camera!
We explored the jungly bits and stalked salamanders.
Sharing our own personal heaven with a few local buddies.
(Above and below the waves!)
Late in the afternoon our cap’n popped by to pick us up, and we raced home together.
Back to base, at One&Only.
Strolled hand in hand along the beach…
…and made good use of the wifi.
A serious luxury after being mostly disconnected camping!
