A new foodie pop up in South Ken was always going to pique my interest.
Just the excuse I needed for a casual little date night with the fella.

I’ve told you about the seafood guys at Bonnie Gull before, they had a great place in Exmouth Market.
Well now they’re taking on West London with a very sweet little pop-up above a wine shop in South Ken.
A very Cornish set up, complete with furry dog wallpaper.
Well worth a stroke as you climb the stairs,
There’s a short but sweet food menu, along with a vast selection of wines from all over the world.
We stuck with the west country vibes and went for cider with our oysters.
Served chilled on wooden trays, I can’t help but think of Hemingway when ever I slurp an oyster.
“As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy and to make plans.”
Followed by plump little langoustines, dipped into saffron mayonnaise and eaten in one bite.
Fresh Cornish crab and samphire.
Topped off with lobster and a glass of French champagne.
Slightly hesitant at first, as it seems to be served raw.
We jumped in anyway and were rewarded by the most delicate, beautiful flavour. Unlike any lobster I’ve ever tried.
A surprising experience I’m very keen to relive!
The pop up happens every Tuesday and Saturday evening at The Sampler until Sept 30th.
No reservations, just turn up and if you have to wait at least you’ll be in a great spot for a drink!
Of course any good date has to end with a snog.
Snog, the frozen yogurt place across the street has got your back for pudding.
Create your own monstrosity (make sure you have the brownie bites) and find a spot to sit in the last of the summer light.
Doing so with a date who has the unique talent of making you laugh yogurt through your nose is always a plus…
I’m gunna hold on to that one. I think he’s a keeper.
Also a winner for girly nights out, a work dinner or just a big group of friends.
The pop up is all sorts of right.
Head over ASAP and tag me in your Instagrams, especially if it all ends with a snog!
