I wasn’t joking when I said we’d be back to Amoudi bay.
Although you must be joking if you think we climbed down/up that hill again!
This time we took a very civilized taxi down into the little red. Burning our poor driver’s ears as we sang along to Prince on the radio.
Like a different place in the day, the water glistens as though its made of fluid glass.
Inviting you into its blue green depths.
Pretty painted boats bob on the surface and waves crash against the shore, pouring across restaurant floors and into people’s handbags.
If you keep walking past the restaurants with their paper covered tables, you’ll come to a red track.
Take it.
The sea will crash onto rocks below your feet, cooling you with its spray as you walk.
Keep going, you’ll soon round the corner.
Keep walking until you can go no further and the path vanishes into the sea.
You found the spot!
Find the smoothest flat rock you can find, spread your towel across it, strip off and leap in.

Avoiding the busier rocks at the very end of the path, we made our camp a little further back.
Meaning we had a cove all to ourselves, complete with little fishing boats which we borrowed for the afternoon.
Jumping, swimming, laughing, ducking, diving and climbing like happy otters.
CAAAAANNNOOOONNNBAAAAALLL!
We stretched out and enjoyed the sound of the waves lapping against the warm rocks.
Soaking up the sun, the salt and the sea minerals.
Elegant as ever!
Hungry after a morning of adventuring, we climbed back towards Amoudi Bay for lunch.
Taking a table at Dimitri’s.
With the sea spraying our legs beneath the table.
Blue white top (on sale!)
Sharing our favourite dips and nibbles.
Tzatziki, tarama, zucchini, baked feta, anchovies, and calamari.
Along with a little cold Greek wine, we saw out the mid-day heat on Dimitri’s terrace.
Before heading back for one last swim in the afternoon, after which we stretched out and snoozed with our noses in books until the sun went down.
I most definitely should have been born Greek.
