For as long as I remember, I’ve been in love with Pedlars.
When I was little the catalogue would plop through the letterbox once a season and was always met with great excitement!
They sold tipis, toys, games and clothes. We lived in their drawstring patchwork trousers and generously voluminous gypsy skirts.
I had all but forgotten about them, when I stumbled upon their London shop last month.
Hidden away where Talbot Road meets Portobello, it’s an Aladdin’s cave of treasures for homes, wardrobes and pets.
It’s a family run place, and you’re likely to run into many of them in the shop.
The clothes and homeware all have something of a Wes Anderson feel to them, in the best possible way.
^ Of course I needed an explorer badge!
^ Having just had the Ketchup vs Brown Sauce debate over breakfast (I’m a ketchup girl, Miles is a Brown Sauce chap), he just couldn’t resist!
^ Mum’s all time favourite snacks. You have to remind me to take her here next time she visits.
Cymru Am Byth!
There’s a coffee shop out back, where you can take a load off.
Sip on Allpress coffee and peruse some of the other goodies on offer.
As you can tell, they’re dog friendly!
Very dog friendly!
Which is excellent news if you’re hunting for somewhere to grab a bite to eat, and don’t want to leave the pup at home.
Miles & I shared tomato, basil and garlic bruschetta and avocado toast.
You sit on very comfortable dog beds in place of pillows.
As soon as Custard was told this, he made himself right at home.
There’s always music playing,
And lots of room if you’re planning a brainstorming session.
(Or just a spot of colouring in!)
Custard took a shine to the British made collars & leads from The Magnificent Hound.
It may have had something to do with the name.
And although he finds the idea of a lead highly insulting, picked out a burgundy twinset.
It is a corking little spot if you want to grab a cup of something delicious, or buy something a little bit different for the home.
You’ll find them just off Portobello, right here.
I’m in:
Grey trench (Surprising, I know! The quality is actually tip top)
Jimmy Choo biker boots // Red suede lined handbag
DvF Google Glass from Net a Porter // Men’s version

I’m trying to get the hang of the Google Glass before I do a proper review.
I thought I might even try a video if you’d prefer?
I’m still in the process of negotiating an updated Dr Dog picture of Custard (scroll all the way to the bottom of the page for the original).
I think he’d look very dapper in them!
His fee is up to 2 bones and a sausage at the mo. He drives one hell of a hard bargain.
Pop by Pedlars if you’re in the area, especially if you’ve grabbed brunch here!
Make sure you snap a pic outside their beautiful window, and tag me on Instagram so I can see.
