As you know, I went to supper in Brentwood a few nights ago.
I loved it, it was beautiful, the food was incredible… but nothing else was open.
When I saw my namesake of an ice-cream parlour on the way out, I knew I’d have to return for a better snoop & a scoop.
So I did!
You can’t beat a bit of red, white & blue! Especially when the sky goes that ridiculous shade of perfect.
The Country Mart is a sort of posh, outdoor shopping mall.
It’s all clad in painted wood with pretty things bursting from every window.
In the middle there’s a “food court” for those who don’t fancy a proper, sit down restaurant.
My amigo & I plumped for tacos from Frida.

Although with a vague nod towards being healthy, we went for lettuce wraps instead of tortillas.

For pudding we went to the (*ahem* brilliantly named) Sweet Rose Creamery for ice-cream.
Where I had a big scoop of peanut butter ice-cream with brownie chunks in a chocolate waffle cone.
Washed down with an iced-latte from next door.
I’ve only just discovered iced-lattes and let me tell you, it is a revelation!
They are quite simply… da bomb.
God bless America & their coffee culture!
Ps. A few people have asked for a little meet-up while I’m here & I can’t think of anything nicer!
I’m missing Señor Custard pretty badly, so I was thinking we could all meet for coffee (iced lattes) in the park and if you happen to have a fluffy four legged friend, you could bring them along & I could have a bit of a squeeze! (If you don’t mind sharing, of course.)
It would be great to meet you and maybe you could meet & befriend some other cool Angelinos!
We can take a few photos, trade stories & LA tips… then everyone can spend the afternoon enjoying the park!
What do you think?
If you fancy a wee sociable cup of java, come say hi at The Trails Cafe in Griffith Park at around 4pm on Sunday 6th October and bring a friend (canine or otherwise).
Jeez, can you believe it’s already October?
