Romance in Paris

No matter how many times I visit, there’s something I still find enormously romantic about The Eiffel Tower.

It changes throughout the day, throughout the seasons, and depending where you view it from.

From far away it is nothing but a pin in the centre of Paris, from across the river it’s a beautiful tower, and from below it’s a never ending puzzle, climbing high into the sky. Watching travellers scale the stairs to the top is a knee trembling experience, and if you ask me… going up once in a lifetime is quite enough.

Sunset is by far and away my favourite time to visit. The tower looks like it’s been draped in steel lace, and it glows.

Brought to life by the dying embers of the sunshine, for one spectacular golden hour.

Paris Trip-2

On our way to supper together, the chap and I stopped to admire the old lady.

Paris Trip-3

Not quite cold yet, but chilly enough to drape a coat over your shoulders. October, you do treat us well!

Little white dress

Navy cashmere coat (my winter investment, I’ve put some more options below)

Polkadot shoes (40% off) // Chanel bag

We watched the sun set on our tower, as she glowed more and more brightly. Really giving us an Eifful!

And walked arm in arm to one of his favourite French restaurants;

La Fontaine de Mars.

Paris Trip-6

A place with charming French waiters in their immaculate black aprons, bistro chairs, checked table cloths, and some of the best dauphinois potatoes in town!

Paris Trip-7

The wine’s good, too!

Paris Trip-9

We started with snails.

Which, as you can see, we hated.

And shared a buttery dover sole.

Paris Trip-12

With the famous creamy, cheesy potatoes, of course.

All followed by millefeuille.

Paris Trip-14

Layer after layer of crisp, crackling pastry, sandwiching rich creme patissiere.

One of my many weaknesses.

But it’s Paris, you can’t possibly be good in Paris. It goes against all of the rules.

Totally stuffed, utterly satisfied and a little giggly from all the wine, we nipped up to Trocadero to see The Eiffel Tower in her evening finery.

Paris Trip-15

Transformed, once again.

We watched her sparkle, something she does on the hour for 5 minutes, every evening.

Paris is always a good idea! 😍✨💫🇫🇷

Before bidding her a good night, and heading back to Le Marais, along the river.
