Another day, another Great British department store!
I’ve been running around for the last week trying to get things sorted for Christmas.
I’m going away next week and want to have as much done as possible before then. This has meant getting something of a fuel injection of Christmas spirit! The shops are all pumping out jingle bells and choir choruses, everything twinkles or glitters, and so far Selfridges seems to be leading the pack when it comes to window displays!
They say the circumference of Selfridges is a mile, and much of it is covered in… Christmas.
It’s well worth stopping for a peek!
I don’t want to spoil it for you…
…but there’s even a ruddy unicorn!
A PINK ONE.
There’s a golden taxi and a hat tipping Paddington bear surrounded by marmalade, naturally.
Upstairs you’ll find “Le Chalet”.
A newly spruced up festive restaurant!
You look out over London, wrapped in a snuggly blanket while people bring you delicious things to eat.
This is pretty much my dream scenario to be honest!
If you’re wondering why the restaurant is quite so quiet, it’s because it wasn’t open.
I snuck up early with a handful of food bloggers, to take a peek at the new Christmas hampers on offer.
If there’s one thing Selfridges is known for, it’s the food hall!
You can pick up everything from sushi, to salt beef sandwiches, Pinkberry, caviar, champagne, fresh flowers, dim sum… if you can think it, you can eat it.
So who better to put together a foodie Christmas hamper?!
They come in various sizes and various prices, ranging from £5,000 to £50!

The £5,000 one wasn’t on display. Pretty disappointing. I’d have liked to have gotten inside it, closed the lid and chomped my way through the lot!
Thankfully there were nibbles on offer to soften the blow.
And coffee, coffee always helps!
We sat down for a bite of breakfast.
And one last rummage through the hampers,
Before sneaking off for a whirl around the shop floor.
How adorable are these Christmas stockings?! Do you hang a stocking on Christmas eve?
I would very much like to find this chap in mine.

I’ve always been a big fan of Paddington Bear, so I’m thrilled to see he’s making a comeback!
Must have been grizzly for him to think the world had forgotten about him… I can’t bear to imagine.
We left a few stragglers inside, they’d gotten swept away by the excitement!
And wrapped up again for one last stroll around the glittering window displays.
Grey floral dress (FINALLY back in stock!)
Black tights // Smoking slippers (similar) // Chanel Boy bag
