Kingly Court is fast becoming one of the coolest places to grab a bite in London.

It’s a little courtyard just off Carnaby Street (great for a Christmas shopping pit stop) that’s stuffed to the rafters with talented food slingers.

Along side a whole bunch of others you’ll find the guys from Pizza Pilgrims, Rum Kitchen, Wright Brothers and the new kid on the blog; Señor Ceviche.

^ Welcome!

When we arrived the place was packed. A charming and excitable waitress led us to our pew and explained the menu.

An intimidating number of dishes to choose from and share, tapas style.

We dove in hungrily!

Starting with smokey chilli chicken wings; grilled chicken wings with aji panca and zesty lemon glaze.

Chifa chicharonnes; slow cooked, crispy pork belly with sweet soy sauce.

Fries covered in spicy Peruvian cheese sauce and tomato fondue.

And the best of all, flat iron anticuchos; beef skewers with aji panco anticucho sauce.

Ok, those fries really deserve a close up!

We grazed through our first wave of starters.

As soon as we’d finish a plate, a new one would miraculously appear in its place.

Much like eating at Hogwarts, but a little spicier I imagine.

Sea bream & king prawn ceviche with tomato tiger’s milk and crispy chorizo.

Sea bream ceviche with aji amarillo tiger’s milk, avocado and tempura baby squid.

The most unbelievable Pachamanca pork ribs, slow clooked in a sticky aji amarillo BBQ sauce.

We washed it all down with various cocktails.

Harry’s favourite being the Mamacita.

A mix of tequilla, Cointreau, lime juice, agave syrup and fresh jalapeno.

Note : It is SOUR!

But it grows on you, and before you realise you’ll have sunk a few more than you meant to!

My favourite was Señor’s Frozen Sour.

1615 pisco, vodka, passion fruit puree, lime juice and gomme syrup. I’m a sucker for frozen cocktails, they make me feel like I’m on holiday.

Although the resto’s decor helps a bit with that too!

A wooden shack pasted with luminous posters and painted metal chairs.

I highly recommend a visit if you’re in the area. If you’re not in the area, it’s worth the trip.

A firework display of flavour in every dish, great cocktails, fun & buzzy atmosphere even at lunch time. You really can’t go wrong.

Kingly Court is under cover so you can stay warm and dry and wander your way to the next bar you find!
