Gettin’ Down in Dallas

“There ain’t no party like a blogger party!” – Confucious

A big part of the blogging conference (and possibly the reason most of us had high-heeled it over to Dallas in the first place) were the parties. Reward Style has something of a reputation when it comes to hosting a good shindig and the conference events were no exception.

Our first soirée was hosted on the lawn in front of the hotel, watched over by the all seeing eye.

It was thrown by the Kate Spade New York team, and if Kate Spade are known for one thing, it’s their impeccable taste.

They draped tables in monochrome stripes and embellished every surface with fragrant peonies & sweetpeas.

If you somehow missed one of the waiters gliding their way around the party with glittering trays of champagne, then you could always make your way to the cocktails bars.

Even the cocktails got their own little Kate Spade accessories…

As I was waiting, minding my own business at the bar, a gorgeous, dark stranger approached.

He had one brown eye and one blue.

H had shaggy hair and spoke in an accent I didn’t understand.

I was smitten.

…but I soon had him and his friend eating out of the palm of my hand!

Unable to control myself any longer I gave into his charms.

We made a plan to run away to London together, but don’t tell Amber (his mum).

Turns out that our whirlwind romance didn’t go unnoticed and they soon attracted a crowd.

Fuzzy little superstars!

Back in the real world the party was in full swing.

We all headed to the photobooth to pose up a storm.

And spent some time getting to know our comrades from around the world.

The air was thick with the sound of camera shutters and laughter.

I wore:

Somedays dress // Kendra Scott necklace & cuff

naked shoes (similar here) // Essie nail polish (which seems to be half the price on here…)

We drifted away in dribs and drabs, some going to bed, some going on to suppers.

But we didn’t have long to wait until the next knees-up!

The night after was The Outnet (Net-a-Porter’s discount site)‘s 5th birthday bonanza!

Allwhite, allwhite, I’ll give you the outfit details…

Joao lace dress // Tory Birch lace espadrilles // Mulberry Bag

The party was hosted at a nearby restaurant.

Half inside by the bar, half outside under a canopy of rustling leaves and bobbing lights.

We all gathered around for speeches and applause.

Followed by a round of tequilla and toasting.

And a few cheesy photos, naturally.

Outside the band fired up.

And we all huddled around to enjoy the music.

Of course the Brits were at the front…

…getting stuck in!

Aaaaand I think that’s enough embarrassing dancing for one evening!

I think we should leave the pictures there, don’t you?!

We kept on rockin’ long after the band had given up. The atmosphere was completely electric and we all buzzed with it. There’s something about long, hot nights that just seem to bring out the best in people.

I can’t wait for the summer to kick off back home. Everyone’s naughtier when it’s warm, it’s so much more fun!
