Conference Day Two

Day two of the blogging conference was another blue-skyed-gentle-breeze-dazzlingly-sunny day.

They tend to get a lot of those in Texas.

The prospect of a day spent in the dark watching powerpoint presentations was not exactly something I relished. So I dragged myself out of bed early and went up to the pool, eager to take in some of the views and the fresh air before I went back to my school days.

Dallas is unlike any city I’ve visited before.

You would think that a jungle of sky scrapers would feel claustrophobic & stifling, but it doesn’t at all.

The quality of light is such that it seems to touch every nook & cranny, it soaks into the walls of buildings, bounces between them and breaths life into the concrete.

The breeze doesn’t half help too.

Being around so many beautiful fashion bloggers seems to have rubbed off and I couldn’t resist a few outfit shots, especially in my breezy little dress.

For Love And Lemons dress // Feather necklace // Gigi bag // Topshop slippers

Looking at that beautiful water, I just couldn’t resist a little paddle. That’s what all the fashion bloggers do right?!

It soon became apparent that I am no fashion blogger.

Back awwaaayyy from the water, girl!

After my near-death experience I was quite ready to go to school for the day.

We learnt all about SEO and how important it is.

Few tips for any bloggers out there:

Name your images what they are; ie. “fashionbloggerfallsinpool.jpeg” rather than “DC82227.jpeg” so that anyone Googling that specific niche is more likely to find you.

Comment on other people’s blogs.

Don’t name your posts after obscure song titles.

Then we were told that being able to see your site on a mobile does not mean that you have a mobile site. (Woops!)

So if you’re reading this on a mobile, I’m sorry and I promise to work on it soon!

After a few hours in the dark being illuminated about the web, we finally made our way out for a coffee & lunch break.

Which meant another parade of beautiful, sky scraping heels.

Lunch was a picnic affair on the roof, where we watched a presentation by Express.

We were asked to choose ‘n’ shoot our favourite look from the Express rail.

I cherry picked a featherlight tee and some little white shorts.

Set about taking a *cool* photo of my look…

…aaaannd that Dallas breeze swooped on by to say hi.

Forever making it clear that I should stick to the lifestyle blogging. I’m sure this stuff never happens to fashion bloggers!

After lunch we headed back downstairs for a little more learnin’.

We even had our own little UK blogger slide!

I can’t tell you how inspiring it’s been to be surrounded by bloggers from all over the world.

The parties have been pretty fun too… I’ll give you the scoop on those tomorrow.
