They're called Slutty Brownies because they're oh so easy, and more than a little bit filthy.
If you're feeling particularly domesticated, you could always make these with real cookie mixture and home made brownie batter, but as far as I'm concerned, life's just too short!

The Best Brownies In The WORLD.
I know, big statement.
They're called Slutty Brownies because they're oh so easy, and more than a little bit filthy.
They're best served warm from the oven, with good quality vanilla ice cream (devastatingly I didn't have any in the freezer this time, so I guess I'll just have to make them again).
They take about 45mins to make, including baking time.
The ultimate comfort food, whipped up within the hour.
You will need...
1 Box of cookie mix,
1 Box of brownie mix,
2 Eggs,
2 Packs of Oreos (double stuffed ones are even better if you can find them)
Some oil
& your favourite ice-cream (optional)
Preheat your oven to 350°F, 180°C, gas mark 4.
Line a baking tray with grease proof paper.
Follow the instructions on the cookie mix box & stir furiously until you have gooey cookie dough, I usually add a little extra water and oil to what they suggest, it just keeps it moist as you'll be baking it for longer than suggested. An extra teaspoon of each is just right.
Squidge (technical term) the cookie dough into a lined baking tray, until it covers the bottom.
Cover this layer with your Oreos. Don't use the broken ones, eat them as you go. This recipe is too glorious to use substandard Oreos.
Mix up your brownie batter. Just stick to the recipe on the box for this one.
& pour over your Oreos.
Bake for 30mins.
Remove from the oven and leave to cool.
When its still a little bit warm, use the paper to lift your creation out of the tray and rest it on a chopping board.
Use a large, sharp knife to cut it into manageable chunks, sections, slabs... depending on how many calories you think you can handle in one sitting.
Drop onto a plate and scoop on your ice cream.
Enjoy, and don't forget to lick the bowl!

ReplyDeleteIn the states, oreos are sold in huge packages of about 40 cookies--when your recipe called for 2 packages, I was floored... until I saw your picture! I just couldn't imagine a pan or recipe that would accommodate 80 oreos!

ReplyDeleteI baked some yesterday in muffin tins: I used the frozen cookie dough that comes in a sheet of squares (the large cookie version for bigger squares), let them come to room temp, put one square in each muffin paper and then pressed down so it covered the bottom, put one oreo in each and poured some batter to cover and then baked for 20 min tops (just keep checking them). They were just as good, and were easy to hand out, no mess (though that's always fun too sometimes). My next version will have a little raspberry jam, I think... :)

ReplyDeleteThese look amazing! I have a sweet tooth like no other and when I saw these my mouth was watering lol I had to make these. I just pulled them out of the oven and it look wonderful. I had to bake them for about 10 minutes longer because the center was still really runny..not sure why? I can't wait to cut these up and serve them with ice cream. Yummy! If you'd like yours to be a little more cake-like, you could cook them for about 45mins, just to firm things up a little!

If you're using a huge pan, just double the recipe.
If you're using a small pan, don't use all of the batter.

Absolutely amazing... I did use refrigerated cookie dough - noticed one reader asked - and they came out perfect. I used pillsbury (the extra large states size dough log) cookie dough, pillsbury chocolate fudge family size brownie mix, and a package (us size) of double stuffed oreos. I used a 9 x 13 pan that i lined with the double sided foil/parchment paper - kept pan clean and brownies perfect.
ReplyDeleteI cooked for the 30 mins, and then turned off the oven and left it in 5 mins longer and then let it cool for 45 mins before bringing to a party... 2 hours later they were still warm and gooey in the middle... after refrigerating (or even freezing) having had the middle still gooey gives them an excellent fudge like quality.

My brother and I just made these, and they are soo good but very rich! He's a big fan of Reese's, so we put some bite sized Reese's with the Oreos. Since our pan is pretty thick we had to bake the brownies for about an hour, and they definitely didn't turn out as pretty as yours, but still delicious!

ReplyDelete8x8 pan, 16 Oreos, needed to bake 5 minutes longer because the brownie mix was runny, not gooey. Decadent, though. Leftovers, if any, freeze beautifully. Eat frozen for crunch.

ReplyDeleteYou can just grease the pan, but you wont be able to pull the brownies out.
You can just serve them from the pan with a spatula.
All supermarkets will sell greaseproof paper or baking parchment though.

ReplyDeleteI high suggest using cupcake liners and a cupcake tin. Mine took forever to back in the pan and if you do a little cookie, one oreo and a little brownie mix it is a great serving and can travel. We have deemed them slutty bites :)

She called her other brother in law and told him her husband was bringing him some slutty brownies and he would love them. Then she told her husband it didn't sound like her brother in law. Well, he pushed redial and sure enough she had called a complete stranger. She called him back to apologize and explain and the good soul said he and his wife were staying up waiting for those slutty brownies.

ReplyDeleteI made these using peanut butter cookie mix, peanut butter oreos and brownies which i threw in some peanut butter chips. They lasted 3.2 seconds at my husbands work. I got a container back with a sticky note that said "More, please!!"

I used my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe (one that uses a box of yellow cake mix!), double stuffed oreos, reese's peanut butter chips (bc they needed more calories, obviously!), and Ghirardelli brownie mix. I served them warm with hot fudge on top (again, needed more calories!). They were DELICOUS and everyone was quickly chocolate wasted.

I had to bake a bit longer than 30 minutes and they still were kinda soupy. Amazingly good but soupy. Definitely a good Fat Tuesday kick off.

ReplyDeleteI've got these in the oven right now...I took them out after 30 minutes, but they were a little runnier than I wanted, so popped them back in for another 15 minutes. Naturally, before I put them back in, I had to sample a small square from the edge of the pan. They're AMAZING. I saw a few comments about making the cookie dough and brownie portion from scratch, which I'm sure will be great, but I was kinda short on time, so I used box mixes. So simple, convenient, and delicious! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe, not only are these ridiculously easy to make, they are ridiculously awesome.

I made these last weekend after StumblingUpon this recipe. I have to say they were amazing!!! I added marshmallows as I only had one packet of Oreos, and they worked a treat to add even more gooey goodness to the mix. Pure blissful filth!

ReplyDeleteThese are in the oven now....using a silicone mini loaf pan (makes 6 mini loaves) hope this works.

I made these tonight except I used peanut butter cookie dough because I prefer them to chocolate chip...Oh my word! My husband and stepson LOVED them...I sent quite a few home with my stepson because they are too dangerous to leave in this house! I only had one problem and I hope someone can enlighten me...30 minutes was totally not long enough to bake...even after 45 minutes the brownie was just not cooked...It was over an hour in the oven before the brownie was cooked through...anyone else have this problem? Otherwise, awesome recipe!

ReplyDeleteI've been having a hard time recently, but yesterday I was skipping around the house like a deer in the Spring. My confused house mate asked me what had happened and I showed her a photo of the brownies that were already baking in the oven. She understood, and we enjoyed them together. It's amazing what a week's worth of calories in one sitting will do to put a new perspective on all the bad things in your life. (The new perspective being: "screw it all, I have brownies.")
