Winter is well and truly done and dusted.
It’s time to step out of the shadows and onto London’s dazzling streets.

If you just so happen to find yourself in Central-ish London, I’ve got a tasty little restaurant for you to try.
Copper, white marble and green juices.
They officially win Instagram bingo.
It’s called Dickie Fitz, an upscale Aussie gastro pub.
With its sunny interior, chatty staff and collection of light, fresh dishes, its the breath of fresh air Fitzrovia needed.
In fact it fitz in rather nicely!
Tuna tataki with avocado cream and ponzu sauce.
A beautiful classic.
The prettiest steak tartar you’ll ever come across!
My favourite starter of all: seabass carpaccio with blood orange and bush lime.
Finished at the table, and topped with a citrus I’ve never knowingly come across before: bush lime.
Tiny sour pearls are plucked from the fruit and dusted across the delicate fish.
Truly exceptional.
The wine list’s good too!
Bespoke Silver May aquamarine ring
The mains are somewhat heartier. Naturally.
Lobster with wild garlic and chili.
I don’t say this lightly…
Potentially the best lobster I’ve ever eaten. Perfectly cooked, fragrant and so tasty. A true star.
Rib eye with bone marrow.
Pork belly with kimchi and bacon broth.
Not my favorite dish, though I usually adore pork belly. This was a little dry, despite the pond of broth.
The cauliflower gyoza (actually more of a cauliflower tortellini) turned out to be a real winner, despite its vegetarian credentials.
I’d choose it over the steak any day.
The lemon tart is one to miss, with bullet proof pastry. But the chocolate fondant is properly divine.
I could happily bury my head in it all over again.
Peppermint tea is best dragged outside for a spot of sunshine and people watching.
After all, we’ve got to make the most of this weather while it lasts!
Find Dickie Fitz in Fitzrovia, not far from Oxford Street.
Book in advance, take a big group and try everything. Especially the all Australian “Tim Tam Martinis”!
Just the fuel you need for an afternoon of meetings in The Capital.
Or you know, just an afternoon of sitting on those yellow benches with chocolate martinis!
Whatever the world throws your way.
Though if it’s the latter, invite me along too?
