Sharing Plates

There’s something about eating “family style” as the Italians call it, that just floats my boat.

It could be because it’s so social. Everyone gets stuck in, forks clash and you exclaim how good it is, together.

Or to be perfectly honest, it could be because I’m a greedy little piglet who likes a taste of everything that’s on offer.

Yup, it’s probably that.

Thankfully I got to stuff my short time in New York with friends, catchups and sharing plates.

Starting with lunch at Hudson Clearwater.

We all tucked into islands of ceviche floating on avocado cream.

Followed by the mother of all burgers…

An array of cheese stuffed salads.

And fries, lots of fries.

Cor! Look at that beauty!

Don’t you wish blogs were scratch ‘n’ taste?

Well… food blogs anyway. Would be a bit weird for fashion blogs.

Anyway, what Clearwater’s really famous for is its puddin’s. So we had them all.

I managed two quick snaps before Sigi & Sable couldn’t wait any longer and dove in.

Shortly followed by everyone else.

After a long, chucklesome lunch everyone headed off to work.

Well, everyone else did.

I just continued my tireless cataloguing of every blossoming tree in New York.

Found one.

Another one bites the dust, baby!

If you’re curious; I’m wearing the blue blazer of my dreams by Hobbs, my live-in leggings from Slinky Feline, breton striped top (similar), Soludos espadrilles, Mulberry chain bag (similar) and a Silver May dragonfly (not on the site yet, but you can order in the bespoke bit).

After lunch I headed to Soho, where I found I wasn’t the only one playing shutterbug.

These guys were hilarious!

I don’t know if I could ever get bored of taking photos of Soho…

It’s just So(ho) beautiful!

Sorry.

For supper I got to catch up with some more friends, at Goat Town (yes, that is the actual restaurant name).

We all squeezed into a booth right by the kitchen and tucked into everything on offer.

Including great big platters of oysters from both coasts.

Pile after pile of kale salad.

Steak tartar.

Burgers & some of the best ice-cream sundaes I’ve tried.

With a few drinkskies, of course.

Marloes challenged me to a spooning contest… which I may have won by cheating a little, but don’t tell her!

Thankfully the other side of the table were too busy being amazed and horrified by the smut on Alex’s phone to notice…

We all stayed and gossiped until our stomachs ached from laughing and my cheeks stung from smiling.

Eventually we ran out of ice-cream and we all begrudgingly said our goodbyes.

It’s been a whirlwind, New York!

See you again very soon…
