“A walk about Paris will provide lessons in history, beauty, and in the point of Life.”

Thomas Jefferson

Smart chap that Jefferson.

After our enormous breakfast we took ourselves for a very, very long walk.

It was another perfectly crisp, sunny day. Not quite the snowy wonderland I had secretly crossed my fingers for, but almost as beautiful… and a bit more practical!

We dipped into squares, through alleys and avenues, just drinking it in and chattering all the way.

After a little playing in Place des Vosges we relaxed with a cup of strong, hot coffee.

Before heading off on our travels once more.

We fell into a museum none of us had ever noticed before.

It was a real maze of rooms bursting with treasures.

I would love to tell you exactly where the museum is because it really is a gem… but I’ve lost my ticket stub and I just cannot remember the name of the place!

Does that make me a terrible blogger?

Probably.

Here’s a chocolatier’s window complete with chocolate fountain to make up for it.

And how about a gratuitous shot of Paris looking ruddy beautiful?

Well I hope you’ve forgiven me by now, because it’s time for lunch.

I dragged two of my favourite people to my favourite lunch spot, Hotel Costes.

I have no idea what I proceeded to explain but… thankfully?… mum was on hand to capture it all.

Her starter arrived just in the knick of time and she was forced to hand over the camera.

Scallops, beurre blanc & a slice of lime.

Snails in puddles of garlic butter for me.

And steak tartar for PJ, as always.

We stayed and chatted for so long with our coffees, the entire restaurant was almost deserted by the time we’d finished.

Eventually we slipped away, back into the glittering streets.

We came across a rather beautiful white carousel, where they were giving out really thick, rich pots of hot chocolate.

I tried to hop on for a ride, but was told it was only for littles.

I tried again when no-one was looking, but got caught. Sheepishly I consoled myself with another pot of chocolate and we continued our walk.

As always I’ve been a little snap happy, so will show you the very last of our adventures tomorrow.

One day until the weekend and six days until Christmas! I hope you’re getting excited?!

*UPDATE* The museum is called Les Amis du Musée Carnavalet. You should absoloutley Pin it for your next Parisian jaunt, it’s lovely.
