I cannot get enough of the sea.
If I had my way I’d live on a little sail boat with a red sail and a wooden deck. I’d sleep in a hammock slung from the boom and live on fish, fruit and sunshine.
I’d sail the world collecting treasures and befriending the locals.
One day I’ll trade in all my handbags & shoes for a life on The Big Blue.
I may not be there just yet, but today we practised. We took out Giuseppe’s little fishing boat and spent the day floatin’ around, shootin’ the breeze & swapping old war stories.
We lunched on wild pork, fresh figs, icy cold wine and slept it all off on deck wrapped in snugly soft towels.
By the time the sleepy pirates made it back to shore the sun was just starting to set over the hills and a cooling shadow crept over Positano.
We pulled on shirts & dresses and headed into town, looking to buy supper.

Having filled our baskets with fresh fruit, bags of pasta, big juicy tomatoes & huge hunks of parmesan we headed home… which meant walking past a whole string of restaurants with open pizza ovens and the smell of molten mozzarella wafting out into the street. We could resist no longer & ducked into one near the top of the hill for grilled octopus and pizzas.
The food was excellent but the view stole the show.
Even grocery shopping is more fun in Italy. Those Italians have got it made.
