One Dress, Two Ways

Do you know what I hate?

I hate seeing headlines in the rags saying “Celeb Recycles Outfit – Wears SAME Dress Twice!”

That’s not recycling, that’s what clothes were made for!

The only dress a woman should hopefully not have to wear twice is her wedding dress.

When I buy something new I want it to fit into my wardrobe, my collection if you will. And when I really invest in a piece, I try to work out how often I’ll wear it. Is it something I would still wear next year when styles have changed? Is it stylish or merely “trendy”?

And then once in a while you come across a piece that ticks every box, plus one more – you can wear it day or night.

Which is why I thought this little floral number deserved its own post.

The most perfect flouncy summer dress, in a forgiving wrap cut with flattering feminine sleeves.

Casual enough for a summer stroll to the market, long and demure enough to wear for work when London gets sticky, light and breezy enough to take on holiday.

The fabric is very light and breathes beautifully, tying with a bow around the waist (which is handy if you need to loosen it after lunch!)

Paired with little raspberry tasseled sandals.

And tassel earrings I found on Pinterest.

Just the thing for breezing through London this week!

And on into dinners, drinks and celebrations.

Dressed up with heels for a night on the tiles.

Let’s move away from disposable fashion and hunt out a few more keepers.
