The morning after the Lanvin show, we all woke up with fairly sore heads!
We’d celebrated late in to the night and now we were paying for it.
I knew exactly what I needed.
A gallon of milky coffee and my favourite Parisian eggs; which can be found at Merci.
I had what I always have, dippy eggs with crunchy soldiers and lashings of French butter.
He had the smoked salmon bagel (which is always a good option because the salmon is exquisite).
And we shared a side of honey drizzled, nut scattered goat’s cheese.
^ Go on, lick the screen. Just a little. I wont tell.
Merci is unlike any other place. It’s a concept store bursting with cool… stuff.
You can choose to sit downstairs in the proper restaurant, amongst the homewares, or upstairs in the library, where I like it.
You’re free to pull books from the racks and bury your nose in one as you eat.
The head waitress (who is my mother’s age, and possibly the chicest woman I have ever met. One day I’ll work up the courage -and the required French- to ask if I can take her portrait!) would be more than happy to recommend a few titles, to go with your cuppa.
Once you’ve filled your bellies, go for a good snoop around the store.
Whether you’re shopping or just inspiration gathering, each floor has something new to discover, some new idea or combination you might not have thought of.
Light floods through the high windows and bathes the space in the most wonderful glow.
Looks like I chose the right day to wear my new white dress!
Perfect little white dress // HS alternative option
I fell completely in love with the Colour-Your-Own-Wallpaper and picked up a few rolls to take home “for my nieces” (for myself).
^ Not quite The Londoner, but close!
Outside it is absolutely compulsory to take pictures with the Merci Mini.
A trip to Merci just isn’t complete without one!
Later, for lunch we made our way to Hotel Amour for lunch with friends.
Lucy had just arrived from London and Cameron had been showing all week, so it was nice to get everyone together for a catch up.
If you haven’t yet discovered Cam’s brand “Bottletop” take a look, fall in love, thank me later!
Hotel Amour is a great option for a bite to eat or a bit of a drink.
The vibe is very chilled and if you ask nicely, you can sit out in the greenhouse.
Together we worked our way through steak tartar, Caesar salads, croques and a lorry load of chips.
Which all had to be Instagrammed, naturally!
In the afternoon, we all headed off to work.
To our respective meetings, appointments and shows.
Of course, we couldn’t resist stopping off for just a little touristing along the way!
If you’re looking for a coat to take you from winter into spring/summer, this ^ is the Holy Grail!
Not too light, not too heavy, not too expensive. The cream goes with everything and doesn’t age quite as harshly as a white one would. Works just as well worn open, closed or fully belted up and wrapped around your nose!
Although… when it comes to twirling at sunset, you might want to whip it off for a few mins!
We laughed so much getting that last snap! I had to be careful not to give the boys passing by an Eiffel!
