Tom’s Deli was always one of my favourite breakfast spots.

They offered no-nonsense English breakfasts in whimsical, old school sweet shop surroundings.

Everyone was pretty gutted when it sadly closed down, which feels like a lifetime ago.

But, finally there’s a new Tom on the block! He’s moved in, sadly stripped away the beautifully nostalgic decor, but is at least breathing life into the kitchen.

Most importantly, they sell enormous cups of the best coffee in town.

I met Alex for brunch.

She’s thinking of moving to Notting Hill, so I promised to talk her through the area and help her with the agents.

There is very little I love more than a good estate agent’s window (I’m my father’s daughter!) so was happy to get stuck in.

We started with a thorough gossip and breakfast.

Pancakes, bacon and syrup for Alex, Eggs Royale with avocado for me.

And a few Fashion Flakes, naturally!

We talked about budgets, bedrooms and post codes.

Before deciding it was probably best to let Custard do the negotiating.

He’s far cooler than either of us, after all.

We dipped into a few of the local shops and attractions between agents.

No Instagrammer can possibly resist the appeal of Wild At Heart, the bloomin’ lovely flower stall plonked right in the middle of Westbourne Grove.

A rainbow of roses.

I got just a tiny, tiny bit excited about the Christmas decorations outside Daylesford.

Ok, I got very excited.

NOT LONG TO GO NOW! Is it too early to start counting down?!

Ridiculous question.

OF COURSE it’s not too early!

47 days to go!

All together now… ‘Tis the season to be jolly,: Fa la la la la la la la la!

Ok, perhaps I shouldn’t have quite such a big bowl of coffee next time. Even Custard’s horrified. The little traitor.
