If you follow me on Instagram then you will already be aware that I have a bit of a love affair with Bodo’s Schloss, the new alpine themed restaurant/nightclub in Kensington.
It’s been open for just over a month and the girls & I have been every week without fail…
Despite my apparent obsession, I’ve never actually blogged about it. I decided it was high time I stopped being selfish and let you in on one of my favourite haunts. So last night I grabbed my camera, wriggled my feet into towering black heels & headed out to dinner.
The restaurant is deliciously snug. You sit around wooden tables with checkered tablecloths, surrounded by skiing memorabilia & old Austrian signs.
The menu is packed with good old fashioned Alpine goodies. Schnitzel, dumplings, steak, chips & mayonaise. Nothing fancy or fussy, just good hearty cooking.
This place isn’t grown up.
Which is lucky because we aren’t either!
It’s a loud, buzzy restaurant. Everyone is enormously… jolly. Every table is a birthday or party, boys drink huge steins of beer and glamorous, giggling girls sip champagne. The music is fabulously cheesy and rather than relaxing with an espresso or a mint tea after dinner, you’ll order a shot-ski!
A gorgeous lederhosen clad waitress will wiggle over to your table with an old wooden ski filled with shots.
If you’re feeling particularly naughty you can order a Bodo’s Bobsleigh.
But things tend to go downhill pretty rapidly with a Bobsleigh…
After dinner the tables are whipped away, the music’s turned up and the place fills with dancers. As a club it’s relaxed, fun, and doesn’t take itself too seriously. Music ranges from The Twist to Rhianna & Gangnam Style. The dancefloor is filled with all ages & all types of people. Royals, rockstars, models, actresses, and nobodies like us.
If you’re looking a fun night out in London I can’t recommend Bodos enough. Find them here .
