Phat Phucs, Chelsea

The crisp, cold, blue skied London might just be my favourite London.

The low sunshine makes the white fronted houses of The West glow like pearls and bathes them in gold come evening.

It’s the perfect excuse to wrap up warm and walk everywhere, just to make the most of it!

My winter-warmer trick is to wear a cashmere vest under my dress, and ski socks under my boots!

Which means you can still get away without *hoiking up* tights all day long.

Of course my quite frankly ENORMOUS scarf doesn’t hurt either!

All set to march to Chelsea!

Scarf (soft as anything and cheap as chips!) // Joseph Coat

New Look dress // Over The Knee Boots

Chanel Bag // Raybans

I went to meet Tanya at Phat Phuc Noodle bar, just off The King’s Road.

Don’t be offended by the name, it means ‘Happy Buddha’ in Vietnamese!

Open to the elements, you order at the counter and then duck into a tent to wait.

We both went for the Laksa. Chicken for me, shrimp for T.

Along with some pillowy pork buns to share, of course!

Noone in their right mind can resist a steaming pork bun.

As I snapped my lunch, Tanya talked to hers.

For those who don’t already know, Tanya has a very successful Youtube channel.

So while I snap, she films!

She’s been trying to persuade me to come over to the darkside for years! At some point I will. I promise, Tan!

After two very filling bowls of noodle soup, two happy Buddhas headed off to The Saatchi Gallery.

Where we caught up with PJ (who took these photos! We don’t have a photographer follow us around just to snap our romantic walks!)

He attempted to have us stand still and take a nice one on the steps.

We failed miserably!

^ Almost! At least we’re both looking in the right direction.

^ That’ll do!

Time to go inside.

The current show is entitled “Post Pop: East Meets West”.

Bringing together 250 pieces by 101 artists from the Former Soviet Union, China, Taiwan, the USA and the UK.

“Post Pop: East Meets West examines why of all the twentieth century’s art movements, Pop Art has had such a powerful influence over artists from world regions that have had very different and sometimes opposing ideologies.”

Which in layman’s terms means a gallery bursting with eclectic, fun, and often seemingly bizarre art!

I’d say Jeff Koons’ suspended basket balls certainly come under the bizarre heading.

Though I’m sure they’ll sell for millions, so who am I to judge?!

Ai Weiwei’s ‘Sofa in White’.

A marble armchair that strips away any of the expected comfort.

Having had our fill of modern art, we headed back out into the cold.

For a snoop around Duke of York Square.

We said our goodbyes, gave each other the tightest of squeezes and Tanya bustled off to Harrods.

Leaving PJ and I to enjoy the lights of Chelsea.

I thoroughly recommend a trip to Phat Phuc, the noodles are cracking and the staff are lovely. You could say it’s… Phantastic!

Perfect Christmas shopping fuel, anyway.

Still a few days to go… are you ready yet? Did my MEGA Gift Guide help at all?!
