Ladies who Brunch

Valentina’s favourite meal of the day is breakfast.

I foolishly introduced her to Granger & Co in Notting Hill a couple of years ago.

Why foolish, you ask?

Because now she doesn’t want to go anywhere else!

She dragged me out of bed (bouncing on the end of it until I gave in) and insisted we get our butts to Granger. With the promise of an iced latte, how could I possibly refuse?

[iframe frameborder=”0″ height=”120px” scrolling=”no” src=”http://currentlyobsessed.me/api/v1/get_widget?wid=29&blog=The%2BLondoner&product_ids=c58a79cb7ed70df3c5a7aa0af04d880e,44aa96ea779d73229a79e19cc18b7c24,f57f697b86a8bfb52879e13318c6d628,n_11069750,b10664e8f6cbefad862721c62d8d4730&rows=1&cols=5&brand=1&price=0&hover=1″ width=”600px”]

We took my rather snap happy gent with us.

He and Val get on like a house on fire, which is a little bit lovely!

[iframe frameborder=”0″ height=”120px” scrolling=”no” src=”http://currentlyobsessed.me/api/v1/get_widget?wid=29&blog=The%2BLondoner&product_ids=c9dee3597a72a8943e62eca4a752b452,n_11616594,b10664e8f6cbefad862721c62d8d4730,fc61bb708b060740ef09efa42a5b910a,6e072b6f3ee29fa4a07072140388095c&rows=1&cols=5&brand=1&price=0&hover=1″ width=”600px”]

A breakfast of various eggs began.

Full Aussie breakfast for him.

Scramble for her.

And broken eggs with ricotta & spinach for me.

(I think I won!)

A sprinkle of salt…

… and we devoured the lot!

Just the fuel we needed for a morning of trinket hunting in Portobello market.

[iframe frameborder=”0″ height=”120px” scrolling=”no” src=”http://currentlyobsessed.me/api/v1/get_widget?wid=29&blog=The%2BLondoner&product_ids=n_11692506,n_11692474,n_11692450,n_11692446,n_11692454&rows=1&cols=5&brand=1&price=0&hover=1″ width=”600px”]

I am ALL about the marriage of comfort and style, so it goes without saying that I love this outfit!

Topshop playsuit // Jimmy Choo bag // Jimmy Choo sunnies // French Sole boaters

[iframe frameborder=”0″ height=”120px” scrolling=”no” src=”http://currentlyobsessed.me/api/v1/get_widget?wid=29&blog=The%2BLondoner&product_ids=n_11617026,b24b3964b393b4d025357ca2a505ba83,n_7159174,n_11617034&rows=1&cols=4&brand=1&price=0&hover=1″ width=”490px”]

Handy if you need to disappear, too.

We ducked and weaved through the market.

Searching for home-wares, jewels and bargains.

Before moving on to some more… mainstream offerings.

Don’t worry, I wont show you what we got up to in Agent P!

Let’s just say that V will be heading back to a very happy boyfriend in Sweden, and I did find a little treat in the sales.

  • Aw got to love a bit of shopping around Portobello market! Although if you’re up for a bit of bargain hunting, I’d suggest having a poke around some of the charity shops in the area- you’re bound to find something lovely at a steal!

Im taking my muma to visit London in a couple of weeks time, and portobello market is definitely on the list! her sort of place πŸ™‚ I was wondering what day do you recommend going? I don’t know whether it closes down or has certain days which are best for trinket hunting? thanks for the inspiration Rosie!

    • Ellie McCarthy

Hi Ellen, Portobello native here. The Saturday is the main day with all of the stalls out in full force but the crowds are nuts. If you’re happy to go at a slow pace and move leisurely with the cluster of people then go the Saturday, but if you want a bit of breathing space and less pressure to move along, definitely go on a Friday! Not as many stalls but still plenty to see and do without the stress πŸ™‚

      • Ellen Alexandra

Great thank you so much for the tips Ellie! will definitely be dedicating a leisurely day to some serious stall rifling and hopefully finding a beaut spot for something to munch πŸ˜€ looking forward to it! x

Hi Rosie, I love your blog. Never miss a post but can you sort out a mobile version pretty please! Not sure if it’s just me, but I cannot view your whole posts on my bloglovin’ app so I have to go to the desktop site on my phone which has super annoying popup ads. Hi Rosie, I just wanted to say I love your blog. As a 46 year old mother of two (20 and 21), I love that your blog is always positive. Raising children is not always easy, and what they see out there on the internet can be quite scary and negative. It’s really nice (as a mom) to see people exuding maturity, gracefulness and positive attitudes. I’ve read your blog for some time now, and it ultimately inspired me to do my own. So, thank you for all of that. Well done. πŸ™‚
