Christmas Drinks

Last night Phoebe's boyfriend hosted a little Christmas party.
Nothing fancy, just a few of his closest friends sitting around the fire with champagne and huge piles of sugar dusted panettone.
I went all Bridget Jones & donned my best Christmas Jumper.

(which was widely admired!)

Nothing says "Happy Christmas!" like a drunken penguin

Pheebs went old school with a navy snowflake number but her partner in crime beat us both with his Ralph Lauren sweater vest & red cords!

The bubbles & laughter flowed in equal measure, we didn't stumble home until the early hours... but you know me, I had to grab a few panetonne slices for the road!

How are your festive preparations coming along?
I'd really love to hear what you've been getting up to, the comments are by far my favourite part of the blog!

  2. Oh Rosie, you are just so bloody likeable! Even though I should be insanely jealous of you, which I am, it's only in a good-for-you way. You lucky mare! x

  7. I'm heading home for Christmas soon - it's the first time in a while that I'm actually gonna stay for more than two days, so it's exciting to spend some time with my family again and wind down from stress!
I just found out that I'm in charge for Christmas dinner this year, so I'm going to have to do some thinking on cooking. And I still haven't got all the presents for friends/family, so I definitely still have some things to do till Christmas! :) Love the holiday season, though.

Hopefully your preparations for Christmas are going well! :)

  11. I live in Cape Town, South Africa so the weather here is warm and sunny and we are all enjoying the summer sun. We were spoilt this last weekend with a public holiday on Monday so my nearest and dearest and I enjoyed getting sun-kissed at one of Cape Towns most beautiful beaches, Clifton 2nd, and eating platters of sushi with mojitos for lunch :)

We were spoilt this last weekend with a public holiday on Monday - so my nearest and dearest and I enjoyed getting sun-kissed on one of Cape Town's most beautiful beaches, Clifton 2nd. We then popped over to Baluga for platters of delicious sushi and mojitos for lunch :)
It's probably hard for you to believe all this with the weather so cold in London at the moment - but for us this is summer - beach, sun, sand and sushi ;)

  14. I have been a long time reader and I must say- I absolutely LOVE your blog. It has inspired me in many ways, but especially to "follow my heart" and do what I love in life and not care what others think. I live in Italy now and my boyfriend and I want to do our first trip to London. Do you have any recommendations for a nice, modern-ish hotel?

  15. ahh I'm glad you are having a nice festive run up to Christmas and New Year! I'm back home with my boyfriend, mum, dad and little brothers (aged five and nine), so having a really great time being away from the city :D Although I have tonnes of uni work to do which is tainting it a little!

I just wanted to say Rose, your blog has been one of my favourites for a long time and I really feel like it has improved so much this year especially! Thank you for the creative pictures and the wonderful wording that you put time and effor into, it really makes my day when you have a new post up for me to read!

  18. Looks like fun - have to admit I cannot WAIT to get back to the UK now. I've been in Paris 4 months straight and I'm going crazy missing my family and friends...three more days and I'll be in the arms of my boyfriend and running around winter wonderland like a kid after too many candy canes!

In the meantime I took part in the pro gay marriage march in Paris! Not Christmassy but still important!

    Merry Xmas :)

  19. Adore the penguin sweater.

My holidays include a fair amount of work (it's the busiest time of the year in my job) and staying home to celebrate with my finace. I'm crossing my fingers that a snow storm will come through on Christmas Eve and deliver a white Christmas to my corner of the desert.

I enjoy following along in your parties via the interwebs!

Please keep up the amazing writing - I am looking forward to your blog post on fitness and working out in the new year. Your anti-diet has changed how I look at food and I feel so much better for it. I am hoping your fitness post will do the same to how I look at exercise.

  23. Rosie! Much love from the USA! I love your blog and really admire how you live your life. It looks so beautiful. :) You've inspired me in many ways from food to fashion. Thanks for always entertaining and informing me through this lovely blog of yours.

Anyway, this is how my friends and I spent our Christmas Gathering together the other night. It was loads of fun! http://wp.me/p14iC4-ck

  26. Hey Rosie,
What kind of pants are you wearing? Are those leggings? Black jeggings? They look super cute and comfy.
Also, what did you decide for your Christmas appetizers that you posted about a while back? I´m dying to find out!

You always look so great, I love it! What are you planning to wear for NYE? I often go with the LBD and I'm a bit over it - not that I don't love the classic sexiness of a good LBD, of course. Any ideas on how to spice it up or ideas for alternative looks?

  30. Oooh, I do wish I was celebrating christmas with my parents this year... But since I'm abroad and it's probably gonna be somewhere around 26 degrees, I'm not feeling festive at all! And I have to work and pick raspberries anyway.
Oh well, I shouldn't complain too much now, should I?
I wish you the merriest Christmas, Rose!

    Rose hi

Im looking to get my girlfriend a jacket for Xmas (and its her bday on the 24th) but cannot decide as to which one.. I recently saw your Zara one in your previous post and it looks very cute (v. reasonably priced too) but I had my eyes/mind set on a YMC jacket, the Wool Melton Coat(red).. Its much more expensive at £290 but love has no price, right? Can you make some suggestions pls, her style is very much the same as Rihanna if that gives you some idea. Would you be happy if your bf got you the YMC jacket for example?

I'm not doing a special thing for holidays, just a dinner out with friends maybe and christmas eve and new year's eve with my family because i'm going to your country to improve my English in January! I'll stay in Hastings, do you know sth about this town? What thing i definitely cannot miss from London? Your answers'd really help me.

  39. Christmas is a bit different where I come from - it's summer here in New Zealand so I plan on hitting up the beach and getting a tan! (Also makes Xmas jumpers a little less appropriate lol)

  40. Looks good fun- I need to get myself a Christmas jumper! I've been doing lots of present shopping in my lunch-breaks and after work. Bit stressful but soo much fun! I live in Paris, and wonderful as it is I'm looking forward to heading back to the UK on Saturday for 2 weeks to celebrate with my family, and get some much needed sleep.
PS. My Texan flatmate introduced me to your blog, and the first time I saw it Phoebe was pictured- my brother went to school with her and I have photos of our families together when we're younger. Small world!

Your Christmas jumper is amazing! And I love your heels! Do you have any good recipes for puddings that could be used for Christmas alongside the standard Christmas pudding and mince pies. Perhaps an excellent banoffee pie or another yummy dessert (ideally one that can be prepared in advance!) - would be so grateful!

I'm a huge fan!
