5 Guys (Heaven in a brown paper bag)

Now I know that as a blogger, my job is to show you beautiful food, places, fashions & trends. To distract you from your day at work and inspire you to try exciting new places & recipes.
This post is about somewhere that isn't new, beautiful or fancy... in fact, it's down right dirty.
In the best possible way!
This is my favourite burger joint in the entire world.
Unfortunately it hasn't hit the UK yet, but I know you're a jet setting lot. Next time you're in America, sniff one of these places out, you won't be sorry.
5 Guys has somewhat of a cult status amongst its fans, but so many people walk right past.
Don't be too hard on them, they just don't know what they're missing.

All the chips are cooked fresh to order, in peanut oil (which is much better for you).

Free barrels of peanuts to crack & nibble as you wait.

You can choose any toppings you want, onions, salad, tomato, cheese, relish... there are 15 to choose from.
As far as I'm concerned salad just gets in the way of a good burger, so I go for double cheese, pickles and A1 sauce.
A clear winner.

As I said, they haven't hit Europe yet, but bookmark the page for your next trip across the pond.
You'll love me forever.

Venice, Italy

I haven't blogged in over a week.
I promise I haven't abandoned you!
Life has been so crazy, I just haven't had a chance.
I went to New York on Tuesday for work. I only just had time to buy a burger and a dress before I flew back on Wednesday morning.
Then it was all a bit of a flurry getting ready for Venice at the weekend.
We popped over for the most beautiful, fairy-tale wedding you can imagine.
The celebrations lasted for three days, so although this may feel like a pretty picture heavy post, I think I've been rather restrained!

The seafood risotto at Hotel Monaco is unmissable.

"Call us Bonds, James Bonds."

Cheese lolly pops.
I really didn't need to know these existed.

The speeches.
Not a dry eye in the house!

After the speeches we jumped in beautiful classic water taxis and headed over to the Palazzo Grassi for dinner & dancing.

My table happened to be nestled next to my favourite piece; Balloon Dog by Jeff Koons.
Isn't he beautiful?

In the early hours we snuck back to the Bauer Hotel and danced until our feet wouldn't carry us.

On Sunday morning, we headed over to Cipriani's on The island of Torcello for big plates of fish, pasta, gnocchi and the infamous white peach bellinis.

Is there anything more Italian than men arguing over cocktails & cigarettes?

They say “If you read a lot, nothing is as great as you've imagined. Venice is... Venice is better.”
I whole heartedly agree.

Glad rags & Rag-a-muffins

Last night the boys threw a 1920's themed dinner party.
Pink Champagne, mint juleps, candles, jazz music & broads in flapper dresses.
For one night only, the house was transformed into the cat's whiskers of all speakeasies.

Unable to find a dress, I joined the boys.
His 'n hers tuxedos.
D wore classic Ralph & black velvet shoes.
I wore Topshop leggings, Theory jacket, D's waistcoat (tied in a knot at the back!) and ofcourse my new loubies.

Alice showed us all up in a glorious Stella creation.

After dinner, we went dancing at Annabels.

We partied late into the night, and if you squinted you could almost pretend the cab home was Ford Model T.
Do you have any ideas for our next themed dinner?
I'd love your suggestions!
