Bompas & Parr Chocolate Waterfall

A couple nights ago I was invited to the preview of a new fairytale style chocolate experience.
Experimental food buffs, Bompas & Parr have created a 5tonne chocolate waterfall within the walls of a shopping mall near Hyde Park.
Bloggers, journalists and foodies drank cocktails from tea cups and oo-ed and ah-ed as they were presented with the waterfall.
We filled bottles with the chocolate elixir, added our choice of spices, sealed them and stuck our Charlie & The Chocolate Factory-esque gold labels on.
A beautiful, delicious reminder of our adventure.

Unfortunately I couldn't take any pictures of the waterfall itself, so you'll have to go check it out for yourselves, trust me it's worth a trip.

Afterwards we headed to dinner at Cafe Anglaise for dinner & cocktails.

London Antidote

I went home to Somerset for a couple days.

You'll never miss the smell of home, until you leave it. 

Stepping off the train into the damp Spring air was a revelation. 

Don't get me wrong, I love London, but now and then you need the antidote.

Somerset is my cure.

'Glamping'

I've become enamoured with this idea of 'Glamping', sleeping under the stars in a beautiful canvas tent, with all the comfort of home. 

Camping... for brats.

You can do it all over the world, but really I just fancy the idea of staying in the UK. Snuggling down to a campfire, next to a lake were you can swim and catch supper.

Heaven without setting foot in Heathrow.

The Box

Last night we had a fantastically debaucherous time at The Box, in Soho.

It's the sister of the infamous New York club.

Impossible to get into, the decor is eclectic, opulent and decidedly naughty.

Hammerstein (the owner) discovered old tiles from a butcher's shop that he has carefully incorporated into the design. "There is such a lot of history there, I wanted to create the feel that there had been lots of owners, different layers of history. We had to fake that in New York, whereas in London it actually has the history."

A burlesque show on acid, naked girls crawl across the stage, snort cocaine from each others breasts and run terrified from a murderous pig... y'know, the usual!

The cocktails are fantastic, but you're fairly likely to share a table with Kate Moss or a prince, so if paparazzi aren't your thing, I would stay clear. 

Fun for once in a while, I don't think I could go every night.
